We arrived in Tallinn on a cruise. From the port we set out on foot to the Old City. The Old City preserved the character of the Middle Ages. It is surrounded by walls. We entered through the Fat Margaret Gate. The city is divided into two - the lower and upper city. We went through Fat Margaret to the lower city through Pikk Street and toward Town Hall Square. It is recommended to get a map (we took one at the port as soon as we got off the ship) and look at the interesting houses on the way. From there we continued towards Viru Gate. Right next to the gate there is a street called Müurivahe at the corner of Viru where there are many stalls and you can buy wool items at cheap prices. I bought gloves and hats there. Along Müurivahe Street there are many relatively cheap shops that you can buy there dolls, lacquer boxes and plates from Russia at cheap prices . From there we went to the upper city called Toompea. We started the tour of Upper Town at Alexander Nevski Cathedral. The cathedral is built in Russian style with an onion-shaped dome and is spectacularly beautiful. From there we continued to view the city from the end of Toom-Rutli Street. And from there we walked back down Piik Street back to the ship

About Me

My husband and I love to cruise. We like to go off the cruise ship and tour the port by ourselves.

In this blog I describe what we did in each port.
